In each case, the highest quality is required to gain the maximum points, listed below:

  20 points for in class writing

130 points for response papers (10 points each)

 50 points for first draft of long paper #1

 10 points for peer review of first long paper

 75 points for second draft of long paper #1

 75 points for first draft of long paper #2

 15 points for peer review of second long paper

100 points for second draft of long paper #2

100 points for first submission of third long paper 

15 points for peer review of third long paper

100 points for final submission of third long paper

(total of 690 points of writing-related activities)

 150 points for leading a discussions (including excellence and timeliness of emailed

questions for class to consider)

 160 points for participation in class discussion when not leading discussion  

(total of 310 points for discussion-related activities)

Total: 1000.  In this class, those who receive 900-1000 will have achieved an A, 800-999 a B, 700-899 a C, 600-799 a D and below 600 an F.
