These days Multiple User Dungeons (MUDs or MOOs - MUD, Object Oriented) have become an extremely profitable and attractive business. To have a successful MOO, a site must offer something unique, something that sets itself apart from all the others. LambdaMOO, one of the forerunners of the modern MOO, was based purely on text based movement. The process was simple: enter a room and communicate all actions, movements, etc by writing out what you are doing. MOOs have evolved beyond basing everything on text and have incorporated online personas. MOOers are now allowed to create a virtual representation of themselves to show the world how they want to be represented. One of the leaders in innovation in the world of MOOs started out as an application created for a friend's band in Finland. This website was called Mobiles Disco and it was the forerunner to the phenomenon that today is called simply "Habbo". Habbo is a MUD created specifically for teenagers to roam around its virtual halls, and its success has been breathtaking. The Habbo website claims that it has 94 million registered users worldwide, 32 local communities based in different countries and gets 9.5 million registered users per month. Habbo hosts real celebrities like The Gorillaz, Jordy Benattar, Natasha Bedingfield and more.
