this one is not me |

about me | I teach philosophy at Pomona College, a small liberal arts college in Claremont, California with very talented students. Claremont has the good fortune of being located located both near the mountains and the Pacific (see »»). I grew up in Philadelphia, and I am still a pretty diehard Eagles fan. I went to Penn, studied computer science, and enjoyed working as a programmer for a while. Eventually I found my way to philosophy. I got a Masters at Stanford and liked philosophy enough to finish a Ph.D. at New York University. |

research | My philosophy research focuses on thought experiments, which has led me to explore imagination and its connection to modality, as well as skeptical challenges in traditional epistemology. Curious? You can read an overview of my research or take a look at some of my papers. |

teaching | Now that the Claremont Colleges have switched to Sakai, I don't make course websites anymore, which is too bad because it was kinda fun. Here's a list of past course websites and recent syllabi. | |||||||
