QUANTUM MECHANICS AND STATISTICAL MECHANICS

FIRST SEMESTER OF PHYSICAL CHEMISTRY

 

The first semester of physical chemistry provides a rigorous introduction to quantum mechanics and statistical mechanics.  The theory will be illustrated and developed using examples from molecular spectroscopy and chemical bonding.  One year of general chemistry and calculus-based college physics and calculus through multivariable calculus are prerequisites for the course.
