Hoopes laboratory students present findings at the American Society for Microbiology meetings in 2003, and also in 2001.

In May, 2003, Allen Kuo and LH flew to DC to present his findings and those of Michelle Yuen and Michelle Wu concerning age-related changes in yeast gene expression.  First, the dinner party the night before graduation for Allen and Michelle Yuen and Sheila Vasantharam and their families, where Allen was having trouble printing his poster:

...and then, he had to get up early to attend graduation rehearsal and graduation,

print the poster, fly on a red eye to DC, and present his poster at 1PM the following

day.  Meanwhile, Dr. Hoopes is in DC dithering in worry lest the poster never be able to be printed out after all.  But, it was OK, so here he is putting up the poster:...

...and here he is!  Allen explains it all to all comers...a very gifted teacher as well as

a potential physician.
