AS 190 Fall 2017
Topic and Problem Paragraph; Readers
Due in Class 8/30/17
Please read chapters 1-4 of Booth et al—they are short chapters and read quickly. Then write a brief paragraph (max 200 words) that explains the problem you will explore in your project for the semester—if you don’t yet know what the project will be, take a stab at figuring one out. Also, on the same page identify two Claremont faculty who may serve as readers. You should have talked to at least one and preferably two of them already.
The paragraph should address the bulleted points that Booth et al pose on p. 49:
"1.Topic: I am studying . . .
2.Question: Because I want to find out what/why/how . . .
3. Significance: In order to help my reader understand . ."
(Another way to think about this last point is an answer to why does the answer to the question in 2 matter?]
But don't include the numbers--write it as a normal paragraph.
